Headwaters Reservoir – Section #20

Headwaters Reservoir

The headwaters reservoir was built in 2010.  It is a fairly large still water in comparison to the other club lakes.  It is long and skinny and can be fished on foot or by watercraft.  There is great bio mass in this reservoir including scuds, leeches, and crayfish as well as good hatches of caddis, callibaetis, chironomids, and damsel flies.  The reservoir is deepest near the dam at 16-18 foot based on water levels.  There is a big island on the south side and in the summer month fish are seen cruising the shorelines picking off various bugs.  The fish in the lake are mostly rainbows with a few browns, tiger trout, and the occasional brook trout.  This lake is ideal for larger groups and families and a great place for a picnic with the surrounding views and seclusion.
